For Science! The Coffee! Day 6!
September 12, 2007
Well, the excitement is over! It would appear that non-dairy creamer is the most effective growth medium clocking in as the first to grow mold. A tiny colony of visible stuff is starting to grow in the black coffee, but nothing more than a visible distortion so far. The milk has gelatinized and is quite not-scrumptious looking. I'll post pictures once stuff is big enough for the camera to capture.

A summary pic has been posted! It would seem that CoffeeMate is creepy stuff that nothing has grown in yet. Eeew.

SCIENCE!
Seems you were right. This has got me thinking. Perhaps it would be fun to do my own little experiment or something. Science is fun!

Isn't it? I was totally wrong about the brewed coffee grounds. I really expected them to grow faster than anything else. I wish that I had a decent microscrope so that I could have actually measured microbial growth as well as macrobial. Oh well.
Maybe surreptitiously test which foods give James the most methane generation and expulsion capability?

An interesting idea, but are we sure we want to deal with the dangers of that? I mean, we could cause a biological disaster...

You do have a point there. At the very least it would be highly flammable... perhaps he could be confined in a bubble during the testing? This would also add to the air of "scienceness". You'd need a lab coat as well...
