What Do You Do In Your Free Time?
August 23, 2006
So... I'm always curious. What does everyone else do with their free (alone) time?
I know that I personally play a lot of video games, toy with my cat, clean, and work on my programming side projects (though not as much as I used too). I also love building things. You'll frequently find me working on little case mods and other bits of building fun. I built a greenhouse for a few seedlings awhile back, that was fun.
So everyone, what do you do with your free time?

Well, browsing the web and posting to my blog should be a given there too. :)

free time? what's that?
i work freelance in my free time. If I truly had free time though, I would probably paint.

Like Dave, i wish I had free time. When I do get that precious commodity, I boat and fish, hang out with my wife, play guitar, and clean my house and cars.

guitar? cool.. i never had the patience to learn it, but always wanted to. i like fishing too, but I don't go very often.

Haha, nice to hear back from you guys! I hear you on the precious free time commodity thing. I'm typically stuck with an hour or two per week, tops when school starts. It'll be even less this year, since I'll be chugging away at 40hrs at work to get insurance.
Jesse; You play guitar too? How long have you been playing? Do you play electric or acoustic? I'm an acoustic man myself, I love the sound of it way more than an electric - but I have to play my electric because I live in an apartment and can plug headphones into it to prevent the neighbors from hating me.
David; You still do freelance work? If you ever hear of someone looking for someone to do some freelance web programming... ;p

You bet I do. It keeps me sane and I have been playing on and off since I was 11 or 12. I play both. I am trying to find a good software to use in tandem with my new MacBook so I can simulate cool amps and effects. I watched an Apple Seminar online about how to use my Mac as a recording tool. It is amazing what these things can do. The trick is, finding time to figure it out.

Haha, software amplification's sweet if you've got a fast enough machine and the converter for it. All the wonderful effects that you want, for basically free. There are a number of good Linux ones that I used in the days of yore when my guitar and computer were in the same room. They may have ported some to OSX.

yea Jordan, I do lots of freelance work. I currently work on about 4 or 5 projects outside of work. I may actually take you up on your offer - we'll talk about it sometime.
